Deke Eugene McCartney

He was born on January 25, 1971, the son of Sharon Miller and Bobby McCartney.

Deke was a loving son, brother, and dad. He would stop what he was doing and help anyone who need it. Deke loved being outside, he loved fishing and keeping his yard in pristine condition. He was a man of great faith and dearly loved the Lord. Deke loved listening to country music and Elvis Presley. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are, his mother, his father, his daughter; Nikki McCartney; his son, Clay McCartney; five siblings,

Sharon (Morris) Stone of Texas; Robin (Brent) McCartney of Ohio; Bobby McCartney Jr. of Collier, WV; Wendi McCartney of Walker, WV; Chad Lee (Stephanie) McCartney of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother's; Wilma Smith, Rebecca McCartney; uncles, Robert Smith, Andrew Smith; nephew, Bobby McCartney III; and great nephews, Ian Wright and Evan Wright.

Sunset Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted to handle Deke's final wishes. At this time no services are scheduled, the family will hold a Celebration of Life at his home at a later date.
