

He was born on March 26, 1924 in Clarksburg, WV a son of the late James B. and Ida Mae Clark. Delbert was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He served in Europe as a combat medic with the 744th Tank Battalion. He received many combat medals including the Bronze Star. He retired from Swindell Dressler International of Pittsburgh, PA as a Field Engineer. Through his work he travelled and lived all over the world.
He is survived by two daughters and their families. Nancy (Fred) Amos of Parkersburg and Margaret Mason of Groveport, Ohio. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Christina Amos (Dennis, Jr.) Herron of Canal Winchester, Ohio, Beth Dawkins (Todd) Hedrick of Floyd, VA., Chad (Janice) Dawkins of Worcester, MA. and David (Jill) Amos of Canal Winchester, Ohio. Also surviving are great-grandchildren Aaron and Landon Farmer of Floyd, VA, Tristan Herron and Cory Amos of Canal Winchester, OH, Ryan Dawkins of Worcester, MA, and three step great-grandchildren; Christian, Austin and Brandon Koonts of Canal Winchester, OH.
He attended the Homeland Community Church and was a member of the American Legion Post 15.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John W. Clark of Clarksburg.
Funeral services will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Rick Johnson Officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens with Military rites by the American Legion Post 15.
