Donald Lee Ruddlesden

Donald Lee Ruddlesden, 84, of Washington, WV, passed away February 26, 2019, in Camden Clark Medical Center, following an extended illness. He was born August 19, 1934, In Harrisville, WV, a son of the late Elaine Ruddlesden. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Irene Wells and his father and mother in law, Walter and Edna Davis. In 1953 Don played basketball for Harrisville High School and was a part of the L.K.C. Conference where he averaged 24 points per game. He retired from G. E. Plastics in the Shipping and Receiving Department with 30 years of service and was affiliated with the Washington United Methodist Church. He enjoyed Musky fishing, hunting, watching WVU basketball and football and boating. In Don’s latter years, he enjoyed spending time outdoors feeding the birds and deer. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 66 years Marlene Ruddlesden; daughters, Kathy Martin and her husband Kevin of Washington, WV, Rhonda Dunbar and her husband Kerry of Belpre, OH; grandchildren Rebecca Hall, Leigh Markham, Ryan Frazier; great grandchildren, Rylee and Eric Zimmer, Aurora and Bryson Frazier, Max and Zach Markham. Service will be 1 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2019, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Tom McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. Condolences may be shared with the family at

I am so sorry for your loss. I wish I could be there with you now. My favorite memory that I have is dancing with him at your wedding and the favorite memory that was told to me was about the time he drove his riding lawn mower into town because your grandma hid the keys.
