I'm so sorry to see this. He was a wonderful person and roll model for many kids that will always remember his kind smile. He was my principal at mineral wells along with Mr Goody . They set the standards that many of us will always honor and respect in Teachers and all others. The first person in the school a child in kindergarden sees is the principals . They couldnt have picked a better man to make them feel safe , and ready to stay and face the rest of that first scary day. I'm now 40 and to this day Mr. Lucus and Mr. Goody is the only principals that left a impression in me that I carried from kindergarten on and still remember. Leaving Mineralwells was one of the hardest things because of them and the teachers they managed with those same standards that made that school the only one that felt like our safe 2nd home and family behind. He will truley be missed but always carried on in our hearts and all the lives he touched with his kindness.
Praying for his family in friends 💗

I attended McKinley Elementary when Mr. Lucas was the principal. He was always friendly and joyful! He stopped to address students by name and was very heartfelt in his work. My sympathies go out to his family...

So very sorry for your loss. Mr Lucas was so kind to me when I attended Mineral Wells Elementary. I don’t think I ever saw him without a smile on his face and friendly “hello”. A memory that always stuck with me... Mr Lucas noticed a boy being mean in some way. (I honestly don’t remember what) He stepped in front of this boy, said something to him and made this boy apologize to me. I’ll never forget that.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Lucas family.
