He was born July 4, 1932, in Parkersburg, the son of the late Frank H. Sr. and Bertha Mae (Epler) Armel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson Dana Jones and one brother Charles Armel.
Frank was a United States Army Veteran, serving in the Korean War. He retired as a Supervisor from G.E. Chemical 33 years of service. Frank was a member of the Southside Baptist Church and also a member of the American Legion Post #15, Parkersburg. He enjoyed working on cars, building houses and flying his airplane.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 66 years, Deloris Armel; children Vickie Jones and her husband Dwight of Parkersburg, Linda Hoskins and her husband Roger of Vienna, Diana Jones of North Carolina; grandchildren Katelynn Durr, April Strouse, Hollie Hutchinson, Shawn Jones; great grandchildren Kylie Carpenter, Megan Long, Elizabeth Gossett, Savannah Perry, Justin Bennet, Cienna Bennet, Corbin Durr; great-great grandchildren Crandin Carpenter, Chase Dowdy, Aryia Ashby; brother John Armel; sister Margaret Sheppard and his beloved Chihuahua, Chloe.
Service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Don Yeager officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens with Military Rites provided by the American Legion Post #15, Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at the funeral home.
