She was born October 6, 1925, in Portland, OH, a daughter of the late Ruben D. and Luta N. (Aumiller) Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 10 siblings.
Freda graduated from Troy High School and was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church, Parkersburg. She was an active member in the lady organizations in the church. She managed the Fashion Bug store in the Grand Central Mall with several years of service and later managed Shelba’s Stout Shop in Vienna. Some of her hobbies included cooking, crocheting, quilting, reading and gardening.
Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Charles R. Fuchs; sons David Fuchs and his wife Michele of Westerville, OH, Michael E. Fuchs of Columbus, OH; daughter Charlotte Wheeler of Saint Helena Island, SC; three grandchildren Jason Fuchs and his wife Casey of Delaware, OH, Stacy Alonso and her husband Roy of Dublin, OH, Timothy Fuchs and his wife Mary of Gahanna, OH and 7 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Dave Johnson officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
