Iwanda Mae Jay returned to the Lord at the age of 89 on December 25, 2012. She was a longtime resident of Martinsburg, WV, but recently called Broadmore Assisted Living her home to be closer with family. Iwanda is survived by her loving family: daughter, Deborah Jay Riffee, son-in-law, Charles Amos Riffee II of St. Albans, WV, two grandsons and their wives, Andrew Jay Riffee (Cara) of Chapin, SC and Charles Alexander Riffee (Yinghao) of Richmond, VA, and sister, Geraldine Wentz of Bridgeport, WV.
She was predeceased by her husband, The Rev. H. W. Jay, sister, Opal Pettit Frye, and her parents, Russell W. Pettit and Sudie Phillips Pettit.
Iwanda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Working alongside her husband, she served in many capacities within the United Methodist Church. She found great joy in serving others, especially her family and friends.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Parkersburg, WV. Graveside services will be at Stonewall Park Cemetery, Stonewood, WV, Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012.
