James “Jim” Ralph Smith, 91 of Belleville passed away at his home on September 16, 2026. Born December 21, 1934, to Ralph and Lillian Irene Myers Smith in Lumberport, WV, he is survived by his wife of 72 years, Doris Joann Shields Smith and his four children: Beth Smith, Cheryl Taylor (Dan), David Smith and Crystal Shaw (Mark), 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brother Harold “Whoozie” Smith, sisters Maxine Duvall, Martha Lowther and Mary Kay Kimball and grandson, Robert Richards. Jim proudly served his country for eight years in the United States Air Force.
