Jean Evelyn McVey

Jean was born June 27, 1935 in Parkersburg, WV to Harry and Leona {Joy} Wells.

She married Reverend Amos B. McVey in 1953 and he passed away on February 26, 1996.

Jean had worked at Dil’s Brothers and Cardinal Foodland in Elizabeth, WV before she retired. She was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Women’s Group and Pisgah United Methodist Church. She loved taking care of people after her retirement and would sit and visit with people in the community.

Jean will be deeply missed by daughters; Diana (Lou) Veatch, Dinah (Robert) Tebay, son; Tony (Lisa) McVey, grandchildren; Chad Ruble, Tammy Catt, Ashley Porto, Nikki, Natalie & Austin McVey, 5 great-grandchildren, brothers; Avery and Truman Wells and sister; Pauline Murphy.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband Reverend Amos B. McVey of 43 years and brothers Floyd and Denzil Wells.

Visitation will be Friday, October 9, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg and from 10 to 11 at the Pisgah United Methodist Church on Saturday. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pisgah United Methodist Church, 5131 Garfield Rd, Palestine, WV. Interment will be at Pisgah United Methodist Cemetery.
