

Joan Delean Moore, 83, of Washington, W, passed away on 8/27/2025 at her home. She was born on August 24, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland to Bill and Alma Smith. Joan grew up with a love for riding horses. She was homemaker for twenty-two years and then worked at the Grand Central Mall, employed at Stone & Thomas (later Elder Beerman) for approximately twenty years. She was extremely active in her children and grandchildren's lives, hardly ever missing a game or event. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren recall
countless days full of fun and endless love and support.
She is survived by siblings Barbara Smith, Donna Hodges, and Gene (Mary) Smith. As well as her children: Rick (Cherie) Moore, Darren (Wendy) Moore, Susan (Scott) Van Fossen, and her grandchildren Justin (Reva) Moore, Shauri (Logan) Morrison, Hannah (Jason) Williamson, Christian Moore, Clay (Kailin) Harvey, Sydney Moore, Addison Moore, Zane Van Fossen, Gabe Van Fossen and her great grandchildren Cameron Moore, Greyson
Harvey-Morrison, Carter Moore, Claire Williamson. She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Alma Smith, as well as beloved pets Maggie
and Bruce.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkersburg Humane Society could be made in her honor.
There will be an informal, memorial gathering (open house style) for Joan on Sunday, August 31 from 4:00-6:00 at Faith Fellowship Church, 2101 Camden Avenue, Parkersburg 26101.
