Joann Elizabeth Sams

She was born Aug. 12, 1954, in Washington DC, a daughter to the late Joseph R. Sams and Bettie Sams. She was a longstanding, dedicated employee of DuPont serving on many teams including; ErgoTeam, SMART Team, ITF Team, Safety Team, Visual Management, and the Medical and Fire Brigade. She was also a member of the Little Hocking Vol. Fire Department, loved to travel, read, and enjoyed animals.

She is survived by her mother Bettie Sams of Coolville, OH, brothers, Joseph L. Sams (Catherine) of Belpre, OH, and David Sams (Robin) of Vincent, OH, sister, Pam Nutter (Chris) of Guysville, OH, nieces and nephews, Jamie Sams (Kelly), Robin Fru (Arbie), Breann Sams, Michael Sams, Josiah Nutter, and Jerrick Nutter, along with many other extended family, and her family at DuPont.

Service will be Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, 3:00 pm, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Mark Eaton officiating. Entombment will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Little Hocking Vol. Fire Department in Joann’s honor.
