He was born Oct. 10, 1923, in Ashland, KY a son to the late John and Elizabeth Smith Gearheart. Over the years he worked for the City of Parkersburg, and also as a Lab Tech at St. Joseph Hospital.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Donna Gearheart.
He is survived by his son, John Gearheart III, daughter, Michelle Gearheart, grandchildren, Dakeisha, Hersey, Demetrius, Sly , Reign and Jai’Onna Gearheart, and Michael, Princess, and Deja Quinones.
Service will be Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, 2:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Friday, from Noon until the time of service.
