Joy Wildene Marquis

Joy was born August 15, 1942 in Calhoun County, WV to Harley and Minnie {May} Hicks.

She was a nurse for St. Joseph’s hospital for 42 years. Joy spent her life taking care of others. She loved spending time playing cards and bingo with her sisters. In addition to her sisters, her joy in life was her family and her animals.

Joy will be deeply missed by her children Joey (Leslie) Marquis of Alabama, David Marquis of Parkersburg, Shawn (Kimberly) Marquis of Alabama, Sharon (Brett Bragg) Marquis Cozad and Karen (Bob Drain) Honaker both of Parkersburg and her niece Michelle Dawn (Travis) Drake of Parkersburg, grandchildren, Jimmy (Missy) and Joshua Greene all of Parkersburg, Steven (Chassity) Honaker of Parkersburg, Christopher and Alicia Honaker both of Parkersburg, Jay Marquis of Georgetown, KY, Justin Marquis of Jacksonville, FL, Gabrielle (Kevin Padgett) of Jacksonville FL., Jessica Marquis, Tyler Deegan, Dustin, Ivy, Daniel and Mason Thweatt all of Alabama, great-grandchildren, Ivy Lee Greene, Bryar and Loralye Greene, Alexis and Riley Walker, and Destiny and Alice Honaker; Loraina Robin Padgett, brothers Creed Hicks of Coolville and Delbert Hicks of Bellpre; sisters Wilma (June) Sams of Parkersburg and Rosie Wolfe.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph of 49 years, sister-in-law Sharon Lee Arthur, sisters Eileene Echols, Bonnie (Paul) Lucas, Donnie (Otho) Arthur.
