Kathryn V West

Kathryn Virginia West, 83, of Parkersburg, passed away Mar. 14, 2011 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 17, 1928 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Chester and Martha Nolan Woollard. She was a Custodian for Wood County Schools, and she enjoyed being outside, gardening, bingo, and her family.

She is survived by two sons, Devon O. West of Parkersburg, and William “Brian” West (Bonnie Hickman) of Elizabeth; two daughters, Melanie Jane (Tom) Allison of MN, and Lisa Gates (Ronnie Moss) of Parkersburg; adopted daughter, Sheryl A. West; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; two brothers, Don (Carole) Woollard of NC, and David Woollard of Parkersburg; two sisters, Chris Daniels of CO, and Deloris Davis of Parkersburg; her best friend, Jeanie Morningstar; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William O. West, Jr.; in-laws, William O. West, Sr. and Bess Ruble West; brothers, Charles L., Jiles, Norman, and Chester Woollard; and sisters, Betty Dailey and Lena Kaufman.

The family would like to thank Dr. Charles Reyes, his staff, and the nurses at CCMH, for their wonderful care of Kathryn.

As per her wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
