

Leroy H. Vincent Jr., 89, of Washington WV, went to be with the Lord on July 4th, 2026. He was born in Harrisville, Ritchie Co. WV, September 27,1936, a son of the late Leroy H. and Ruth E. (Glass) Vincent.
Leroy was a 1956 graduate of Pennsboro High School in Ritchie County, WV. Where he played football for the Cardinals and was a member of FFA. Leroy retired from Dupont as a Monomer operator after working 34 years, after which he worked at the Memorial Toll Bridge as many Dupont Retirees did.
Leroy was a member of the Mt. Olivet Masonic Lodge #3 of Parkersburg and First Christian Church where he served as a Deacon, Elder, and sang in choir.
Surviving Leroy is his wife Carol S. (Stalnaker) Vincent, where he was a devoted husband of 67 years. He is also survived by two daughters Kimberly (Charlie) Ball of Little Hocking OH, and Angela (Tim) Leach of Washington, WV. Three grand-daughters Tausha (Mike) Pullins of Coolville, OH, Kayla (Tony) Whited of Belpre, OH and Emma Leach of Beckley, WV. Three Great - grandchildren Austin Pullins, Abbey and Tyler Whited.
Leroy is also survived by brothers Steve (Janice) Vincent of Parkersburg and Gale (Judy) Vincent of Ellenboro, sisters Patsy (Don) Martin of Harrisville, Virginia (Jim) Beck of Pennsboro, and Dixie (Sam) Metz, of Cairo and many nieces and nephews.
Leroy is survived by special friends Glen and Shirley Yoho, whom Carol and Leroy met after moving to Parkersburg where they spent many years traveling and vacationing together.
Leroy is preceded in death by infant sister Texie Sharon Vincent, brother Ronald (Mary) Vincent and their son Gregory Vincent. He is preceded in death by his in laws Argil R. Stalnaker and Gladys (Monroe) Stalnaker. He was just recently preceded in death by his sister - in - law Norma Jean Stalnaker Cooper of Martinsville VA, who we always heard Leroy walked Carol home from a football game on their first date, on Norma's Birthday.
The funeral service will be Thursday, July 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, of Parkersburg. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens with graveside rites by Mt. Olivet Masonic Lodge #3. Visitation will be from 4-7 on Wednesday and 10 on Thursday prior to the service. The family requests memorials be made in Leroy's name to First Christian Church, 1400 Washington Ave. Parkersburg, WV 26101. Rev. Dr. William B Allen, Rev. Dr. Thaddaeus Allen and Pastor Dottie Dalton will be officiating.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and CNA's from Eagle Point Nursing Home for taking such good care of our Father and making sure "Mr. Vincent's" daily visits with our Mom were special even when he wasn't under their care. We would also like to thank his neighbor and friend Bill Meredith for keeping a close eye out on Dad.
