Lloyd A. Short

Lloyd Allen Short 84 of Parkersburg WV, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 19th at Eagle Pointe nursing home with loving family by his side. Lloyd was born in Spencer WV to Virginia and Bud Short. He graduated Parkersburg High School in 1956. He spent 4 years in the United States Air Force most of which was spent in Germany. He followed his Air Force career with 2 years in the National Reserves. After honorable discharge from the service, he returned to Parkersburg and worked for Borg Warner for 10 years, Guardian Glass for several years, and was owner operator of Imperial Glass for 22 years. He retired to Melbourne Florida in 2002 where he spent time enjoying friends and a view of the beach. He is survived by wife Nancy, daughters Andrea Yeager, Pamela (Joe) Russell, three grandchildren Jodie Russell, Brittany (Justin) Stevens, Traves (Kendra) Yeager, and two great grandchildren ; Maddox and Gage, one sister Janet Barton, and half-sister Judy (Bob) Straub. He was preceded in death by mother Virginia and stepfather Hubert Badgett, father Charles (Bud) and stepmother Dorothy Short.

Lloyd was an avid animal lover his whole life therefore, if anyone wishes, in lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Lloyd’s name to the Humane Society of Parkersburg.

The Family wants to thank all of the caretakers at Eagle Point. Thank you, Darla, Shea, Chance, Maggie, Natasha,Connie, Carly, Shannon, and Angie for the comfort you gave Lloyd. Also, a special "Thanks" to Teresa and Courtney of Amedisys Hospice and his special caretaker and friend, Marti.

Public visitation will be from 12-1pm on Friday June 23 2023 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A private Family service will be held at 1pm at the Funeral Home. Entombment to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
