It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Marcella June Rake of Parkersburg. She was a loving, faithful and devoted woman whose life was centered around her family and her Christian faith.
She leaves behind a large, loving family. Her husband, Paul Rake, died in 2014, after 62 years of marriage. Her parents were Carlin Jackson Sr. and Janie Savage and Stepmother Mary Jackson.
She had six siblings, Eulene Barcley, Avonelle Pierce, Charlotte Whiting, Sharon George and Rodney Jackson. Her children are Brenda Cantwell, Pamela Reeder, Lora Rake and Melissa Calhoun. Her many grandchildren are Derrick Reeder, Justin and Janean Cantwell, Shane and Sheldon Byers, Nicole Guinn, Whitney Pennington, and Brielle and Darby Calhoun. Her great-grandchildren are Isabella Guinn and Laiken Byers.
Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral on Monday, August 31, 206 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm at the funeral home with burial to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
