Marge Merville

She was born in Parkersburg February 15, 1931, daughter of the late Bernard and Nellie Danser Russell. On December 31, 1951, she married William Reed Merville, who preceded her in death after more than 50 years of marriage.

The most important thing in Marge’s life was her family. She thoroughly enjoyed family gatherings, baking, and the holidays. Previously, she was a real estate broker, and in retirement was an antique dealer with her husband. She was a former member of Beechwood Presbyterian Church and Faith Gospel Church.

Marge is survived by her four children, Diana (Ken) Winters, Washington, WV, Christie (Fritz) Lindauer, Parkersburg, WV, Mary Butler, Parkersburg, WV, and Michael Reed Merville, Washington, WV; nine grandchildren, Caleb (Zoe) Winters, Miranda (Shale) Lough, Lance (Laxmi) Lindauer, Michelle (Travis) Hays, Brenna (Eric) Sams, Jason Hatcher (Judy Staley), Jeremy Hatcher (Lauren Pence), Austin (Amanda) Merville, and Megan Merville (Tyler Parrish); nineteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Reta (David) Hennessee, Parkersburg, WV; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gary Butler; daughter-in-law, Peggy Merville; brother, Paul Russell; sister-in-law, Shirley Russell; and nephew, David L. Hennessee.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Housecalls Hospice, and to loving caregivers Deb, Sherri, Lauren, and Vicki.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 16, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, with Pastor Jason Stutler officiating. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. prior to the service. Entombment to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
