Maxine Smith

Maxine McClead Smith passed on September 4, 2026, at the age of 83, surrounded by her loving family at home. She was born on November 21, 1942, in Parkersburg, WV to the late Everett and Eva "Goodwin" McClead Sr.

Maxine was a loving wife of the late Harley B. Smith Jr. for 63 years. She was a wonderful mother to three beautiful daughters and devoted her life to taking care of them. Maxine loved her family and her friends. She was always taking care of everyone else before she took care of herself. Maxine was known for her loving heart, her kindness, and her gentle laughter. She will be remembered for her love of travel and her great smile. Maxine leaves behind a legacy that will inspire her family for generations.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her loving daughters,Tammy (Robert) Busch, Carole (Chirs) Gray, Gail (Brian) Murray; grandchildren, Roger (Lucresha) Busch, Brandon (Renee) Jones, Dylan Hall, Logan Hall, Whitney (Ryan) Westbrook, Cole Murray, Ella Gray, Andy (Gracie) Gray; great grandchildren, Savannah Jones, Hudson Jones, Kasen Burrows, Lyla Westbrook, Kenna Busch; sister, Kay Brown; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents, 3 sisters, 4 brothers, and granddaughter Erika Marie Jones.
