Michael Boyce

Michael Ray Boyce, 70, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on July 31, 1956 in Parkersburg, Mike was the son of the late Robert and Deloris "Sissy" Boyce.

Mike was a quiet and humble man whose kindness was shown through actions rather than words. Though naturally reserved and living with anxiety, those who knew him found a gentle sense of humor, a generous heart, and an unwavering devotion to his family. He often wished it came easier to express his feelings, but his love was always evident in the way he lived.

a devoted single father, Mike built his life around staying close to family. After working a variety of jobs, he spent many years at Pinewood Village Apartments because it allowed him to remain close to home, where family always came first. He was deeply devoted to his mother, Deloris, faithfully calling her every evening for the rest of her life.

Mike enjoyed life's simple pleasures. He was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers and West Virginia Mountaineers fan. He love science fiction, especially Stargate SG-1, Star Trek and Smallville.

Saturdays with his son, Nick, often meant taking two city buses to the Grand Central Mall for a movie and pizza, traditions that became treasured memories. He also enjoyed haunted houses, Giovanni's spaghetti with meat sauce and alfredo, and ice cream.

Gifted with is hands, Mike could seemingly fix anything. Though he dreamed of seeing the world, his love for family always kept him close to home. Later in life, he found comfort in his Christian faith. He shared a special a special bond with his beloved dog, Sadie, and treasured evenings watching the stars with his daughter, Tori.

Mike is survived by his son, Nick Boyce of Parkersburg; daughters, Tori (Jesse) Boyles of Vienna, Stacey (Jimmy) Day of Belpre; brother, Kelly (Jo) Boyce of Parkersburg; grandchildren, Austin Day of Belpre, Rhett Boyles of Vienna; and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bobby Boyce of Parkersburg.

In accordance with Mike's wishes, cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
