She was born April 4, 1937 in Louisa, Kentucky, daughter of the late George Sparks and Beatrice Damron Sparks.
Mildred was an active member of New Life Baptist Church. She retired from Kroger after 15 years of service. She enjoyed quilting and cooking for her family. Mildred’s kind spirit, generosity, and compassion touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband, John Mills; sons, James (Lisa) Mills, John (Katrina) Mills, Patrick (Pamela) Mills; daughter, Julie (Glenn) Gossett; two brothers and fifteen grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Thursday October 2, 2025 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Jackson County, WV. Visitation will be 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. Wednesday October 1, 2025 at the funeral home.
