Millard Ray Atkinson Jr.

Millard Ray Atkinson Jr., 85, of Parkersburg, WV passed away June 23, 2026, at his residence. He was born May 6, 1941, in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Millard Atkinson Sr. and Irene Newbanks Atkinson.

Millard was a proud member of the VFW and American Legion Post 15. He dedicated more than 30 years of service as an technician with Xerox, before starting his own business as an electrician. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards with friends, traveling to the mountains, riding side-by-sides, and spending time with his family. Millard will be remembered for his hard work, friendship, and love for those closest to him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his daughters, Michelle (Robert) Rice, Jody (Brian) Hartigan; brothers, Blaine, Tim; sister, Sharon Wiles; grandchildren, Heather, Corbin, Matthew, Michael, Adam, Sophie, Wesley and fifteen great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy, son, Randy and daughter, Julie.

A memorial service will be held 1 PM July 18, 2026, at Fellowship Baptist Church with Marty Fullerton officiating.
