

He was born Dec. 15, 1938, in Gilmer Co., a son to the late Roy and Eula Parsons. He was a veteran of the US Navy, and retired from Ames after 45+ years of service. He was a member of Life Church, and loved spending time outdoors doing yard work, and working with his flowers. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Billey Parsons.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Wagoner Parsons, children, Sherry Hinton (Mark) of Mineral Wells, Angela Vincent (Jeff) of Parkersburg, Lionel Parsons of Mineral Wells, and John Parsons (Andrea) of Lubeck, grandchildren, Tiffany Spellman (Roy), Lindsay Vincent, Wesley Vincent, Molly Vincent, Andrew Parsons (Olivia), Lauren Parsons, Trent Parsons, and Bryce Parsons, great grandchildren, Ava Spellman, and Derek Parsons, brother, Russell Parsons (Betty) of Belpre, along with many extended family and friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at DeVita Dialysis Center for their care and support.
Service will be Sat., Jan. 11, 2014, 12 pm noon, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Pasi Sikio officiating. Burial to follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens with Veterans rites by American Legion Post 15.
Visitation will be Fri., Jan. 10, 2014, from 5-8 pm and from 10 am until noon prior to the service at the funeral home.
