

He was born June 14, 1934, in Aiken, South Carolina, a son of the late Oscar Ware Sr. and Mary A. Young. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Julius Ware and one grandson Diamond Ware-Williams.
Oscar retired from the J.F. Kennedy Air Port as a Sky Cap with several years of service. He was baptized at Faith Baptist Church in New York and enjoyed bowling, dancing and spending time with his family and the love of his life, Perline.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Perline (Bennett) Ware; 5 children, Cecil Ware of TN, Kevin Ware of NY, Deirdre Ware of CA, Shari L. Ware of NY, Nadine K. Ware-Evans of CA; step-children Gregory Jones of TX, Aubrey Jones of CA; siblings Margaret Ware of WV, Gwendolyn Ward of WV, Carlita Lynch of WV; 18 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Celebration of life will be 12 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Elder Cleveland Lynch Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
