She was born February 6, 1955 in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Charles Pursley and Estil Henderson Pursley.
Patty was a historian. Her love of history led her to become a historical interpreter and she did many character portrayals, including, Mad Anne Bailey, Eleanor Roosevelt, Harriet Beacher Stowe, Amelia Earnhart, Fanny Crosby, and Red Neck Nellie. She was a member of West Virginians for Life, Belpre Historical Society, and Daughters of American Pioneers. She volunteered at Cooper Cabin at City Park and Blennerhassett Island State Park. Patty was a strong pro-life servant for the Lord. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband of 44 years, Curtis Dean Cooper; sons, Charles (Stephanie) Cooper of Pittsburgh, PA. Matthew (Amanda) Cooper of Parkersburg, WV; grandchildren, Emma, Owen, Adam, Avonlea, Mara, and Elias.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Pursley.
Per Patty’s wishes, there will be no services at this time. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
