Rose was born June 9, 1941 in Parkersburg, WV to the late Sherman B. and Clara L. Sims. Rose retired from the Wood County Board of Education. She had a love for music and was gifted with a beautiful alto voice. She sang in quartets for many years. Her most beloved singing partner was her husband Bob. Together they sang in churches throughout the Parkersburg area. Bob and Rose enjoyed camping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Larry and Diane Wilkison were special friends and caregivers in their later years and adopted their beloved schnauzer Molly.
Rose is survived by her children, Debra (Curt) Blimline, Michael (Sharon) Battin, and Timothy Battin. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert McNicholas earlier this year. Also preceding her in death were her three brothers, Herbert, Sherman (Junior), and Charles Sims as well as two of her children, Marcella Breedlove (36 years old) and Aaron D. Battin (infant).
They family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice staff and WVU Medicine, Camden Clark Campus nurses for their outstanding care of their mother during her final days.
