I met Roy as a volunteer with the American Baptist Men Disaster Relief Ministry. He was generous with his time, his talents, and his material blessings. Whenever ABMen called on Roy for whatever, he responded generously. No one knows the the time and equipment hours Roy donated in service to his Lord. I am confident he was greeted by his Master with "well done good and faithful servant."

In 2005 I've had the honor in working alongside Roy when I was a coordinator for the West Virginia American Baptist Mission Teams in Nicaragua with the organization PROVADENIC and then later AMOS.

Roy had a real kind soul and heart, and was always wanting to be a good servant. He was really supportive of the work of the institution that I belonged to during that time.

In 2009 was the last time that I saw him alongside his wife Anna Lou. I had the pleasure of visiting them at their home. He was in good spirits and he always enjoyed a good laugh.

Sr. Roy may you rest in peace alongside family and friends. "Well done, good and faithful servant."

We were so sorry to hear about Roy. The last time we spoke with him we talked about riding Vernon's bus and the old days. He will be missed!

Dear Anna Lou and all of Roy’s family,

We are praying for you all at this time as we remember Roy’s strong work ethic and willingness to share his time and resources. We remember how he was an integral part of his church and community. A lot of our memories are of Roy’s heart as he served his Lord on the mission field in Nicaragua. We will never forget him.

We love you all,

Dear Anna Lou and family... I know your hearts are sad while at the same time you would never wish Roy back into the chaos of this earthly journey. You have many wonderful memories that will make you laugh and make you cry....enjoy the memories and tell all the stories you can think of to your kids and grandkids! I found this prayer by Billy Graham ....
My prayer today is that we will feel the loving arms of God wrapped around us, and will know in our hearts that He will never forsake us as we trust in Him.
—Billy Graham
Peace to you all!

Roy was a great reflection of Jesus. I fondly remember him working at my parents home after a fire destroyed everything.

Roy always was a hard worker, especially at the Belleville Homecoming. Had lots of good times working with him. We were great at selling 50/50 tickets!

Lots of prayers for you, Anna Lou, and all of the family.
