After completing high school, Roy served his country in the United States Army. He was proud of his service to his country.
Roy was a devoted christian that attended Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. He loved bee keeping, rebuilding old cars, constructing buildings around his property, hunting with his son, and gathering with his friends, per his words, "the old timers meeting."
The greatest joys in his life was the time he spent with his family, laughing and telling funny stories.
Those left behind to carry on his legacy are his son, Stacey (Lynn) Connolly; his granddaughter, Gillian Leigh Connolly, and his sister, Mary "Bell" Cunningham.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 41 years, Phyllis Buzzard Connolly; brother, Ernest Kimner and sister, Wilda Connolly.
Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, October 2, 2026 at 1:00 pm with burial to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11am to 1pm.
