

Ruby N. Grogan, 87, of Washington, WV, passed away on March 25, 2011 at the Willows Center in Parkersburg.
She was born Feb. 24, 1924 in Calhoun County, WV, a daughter of the late Cary and Lotie Whipkey McCartney. She was a Christian by faith and retired from the Wood County Board of Education after many years of service. Ruby enjoyed life and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her four children, Gordon Grogan of Washington, James Grogan and his wife, Ramona, of Teays Valley, Darlene Kiger and her husband, Joe, of Washington, and Peggy Jenkins of Parkersburg; ten grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nine siblings and her son-in-law, Bill Jenkins.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memory Gardens, Parkersburg with Ruby’s nephew, Pastor Wayne Dunlap officiating.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Ruby’s friends from the Wood County Schools, Lotie Cline, Barbara DeWees, Sandra Cowan, Jean Grapes, and the staffs at the Willows and Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
