Sharon Rosann (Joy) Fleak, 70, passed away in the early hours of August 5, 2023, stubbornly ensuring that she reached 50 years of wedded bliss with the love of her life, Wayne Fleak. She was born in St. Clair, Michigan on January 8, 1953, to Cecil Warren Joy and Donna Carol Adams.
She was an avid crafter and gardener and loved nothing more than to watch the birds and butterflies who flocked to her gardens. Her love of the outdoors included many fishing trips to Lake Murray, SC with friends and family and fishing our local creeks and rivers. Her love of the Sugarcreek Amish Country meant many trips with friends and family over the years buying crafts and antiques. That love of antiques was shared with her husband and became an even bigger part of their lives after they retired, spending time searching for treasures at yard sales, auctions, and flea markets. The Longest Yard Sale became their yearly tradition to celebrate their anniversary. She loved to travel and shared adventures all over the US with friends and family.
Family was incredibly important to Sharon, and she loved nothing better than spending time with them. She leaves behind her husband, Wayne, daughters Stacy Taylor and Lisa Fleak, and the son she never knew she wanted, Justin Taylor, who gave her two amazing grandchildren, Bowen and Brennan Taylor. Her brothers: Gary (Judy) Joy, Warren (Marion) Joy, Mike (Melinda) Joy and Steve (Eva) Joy. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families. Her Forever Friends; Loretta (Ed), Brenda (Tim), Joy (Tom), Faye (Roy) Dora (Rick), Peggy and Dianna. And her constant companion for the past few years, her dog Tess.
She was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Carol Joy and grandparents Floyd and Cynthia Joy and Roy and Nina Adams.
In lieu of flowers her family asks that you hang a birdhouse or wind chime at your home in remembrance.
Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Wednesday August 9, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Wednesday from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the funeral home.
