Susan J Wade

Susan J. Wade, 78, of Port Charlottle, Florida, passed away October 20, 2025 peacefully at her son’s home in Williamstown, WV where she had been in hospice care for the last few months. She was born on February 25, 1947, in Chauncey, West Virginia. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter R. and Oakie Crickman, her sisters Virginia Curry and Anita Padgett. She spent many years serving in churches she regularly attended until her health kept her from going anymore. She held various jobs over the years in Benwood, WV and Port Charlotte, Fl. She loved to go to the beach to collect seashells, read her Bible and listen to gospel music by the Oakridge Boys. She is survived by Robert L. Wade, her husband of 60 years and her two children, Robert (Beth) Wade of Williamstown, WV and Jennifer (Leland) Burton of Lake City, FL. She leaves three grandchildren, Steve Wade, Bailey Burton and Mason Burton. She is also survived by sisters Rose Casterline, Thelma Spry, Mickey Preece and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 11AM to 1 PM Thursday October 30, 2025 at Vienna Baptist Church in Vienna, WV with funeral to follow at 1 PM. Interment will be in the West Virginia Veteran’s Cemetery in Grafton, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the Amedisys Hospice.
