Tami, age 49 of Washington, WV, was an amazing woman who lived her faith each and every day of her life. She was a wonderful wife, unbelievable mother and mother-in-law, loving daughter and daughter-in-law, devoted sister and sister-in-law, special aunt and cousin, and caring friend to so very many. She loved openly and unconditionally always listening to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Tami was the ultimate homemaker who loved to cook and care for her family. Over the span of her 49 years, she served as a Sunday School teacher, homeroom mother, PTA Board Member, originator and founder of Parents Assisting Students (PAS) at Blennerhassett Junior High School, Brownie mom, volleyball mom, and contributor to countless other service projects. She was a member of South Parkersburg Baptist Church.
Tami loved gardening and home interior design. She loved working and spending time at Butcher Family Farms where her passions for flowers and friends met equally.
She went to Heaven ahead of her husband of 28 years, Gene Duffield, her daughters, Natalie Sue Mather (Ryan) of Vienna and Amy Jean Duffield; parents Richard and Sue Hill of Tornado, WV; sister Terri Walker and husband Tim; brothers Rick Hill and wife Vicki, Bobby and wife Donna, Alan and wife Gayla; six nephews, three nieces, several aunts, uncles, and cousin all of whom she loved and cherished.
She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents.
Special thanks go to Dr. Kelli Cawley, Dr. Bonnie Buchman and Dave Hawkins of Mother Earth Foods, Dr. Gabor Altdorfer, Dr. Richard Mason, and the wonderful, amazing nurses at the Camden Clark Ambulatory Infusion Center, along with the nursing staff at Marietta Memorial Hospital all of whom provided Tami with magnificent care over the past six and a half years.
Services will be at the Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday December 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be on Tuesday December 27 beginning at 12 noon with visitation preceding the service by one hour.
In lieu of floral arrangements, the family would ask that contributions be made to favorite charitable or service organizations and that individuals bring a single flower to place in Tami’s memorial vase to signify each donation.
