Tobie Taylor

She married the love of her life, James Taylor, on April 18, 1965. They raised two wonderful sons, Stephen H. (Steve) Taylor and Jason E. Taylor.

Tobie lived a wonderful life, she graduated from Gilmore High School and attended Mountain State Business College. She worked at Public Debt for 30 years while raising her family. Tobie enjoyed cooking, vacationing at Myrtle Beach, and the Smoky Mountains, taking care of her cats, cheering on her son, Jason, during each step of his baseball journey, but her greatest joy was spending time with her granddaughter, Makenzie.

She was a lifelong member of Beechgrove Church and the South Parkersburg Woman's Club.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, James, of 61 years; her son, Stephen H. Taylor; her daughter-in-law, Megan; her granddaughter, Makenzie; sister, Joyce Coleman (Dave); nephew, Scott Coleman; niece, Carrie Coleman Tucker (Gary) and many friends.

She went home to be with her parents, Rex and Dana; and her son, Jason.

Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 1pm. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Tobie.
