
Troy Hathaway, 83, of Parkersburg, passed away suddenly but peacefully to be with his Lord & Savior, early Saturday morning, Jan. 22, 2011, at his home.
He was born Oct. 8, 1927 in Mt. Zion, WV, a son of the late Clyde and Goldie Bennett Hathaway. He was an honored veteran and served our great country in the U.S. Army, was a faithful and active member of Kites Run Evangelical Methodist Church, and his career life included U.S. Quarry Tile, Foothill Electric, and he retired from Kaiser Aluminum in Belpre, OH after more than 30 years of service. He was a HAM Radio Operator with the call sign WA8AUV, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and he played guitar and sang.
He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 63years, Clara Pearl (Marlow) Hathaway; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Leonard “Bud” Hathaway, Lennis Hathaway, Evelyn Haught, Greta Stump, Nada Newhouse, and Vera Allen; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with his friend Pastor Mike Kerns officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, and full military rites will be provided by the American Legion Post 15.
Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and until the time of services on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
