Vernon H. Bibbee

Vernon Harrison Bibbee, 92 of Davisville passed away on March 4, 2025. Vernon was born at home in Wood County in the Pleasant Hill area on March 14, 1932 to the late Waldo and Lettie (Burgy) Bibbee. Vernon is a member of the Sams Creek Baptist Church. He worked most of his adult life at the Ideal Box Company and then later in the maintenance department for the city of Parkersburg. He was married to the late Martha (Fluharty) Bibbee for 55 years with whom he had three sons, all surviving him, Donald Bibbee (Connie) of Parkersburg, Buryl Bibbee of Washington, and Charles Bibbee (Pamela) of Little River, SC, raising his family in the Washington Bottom are. He was the last surviving sibling of 9 brothers and sisters. Besides his parents and wife he was pre deceased by the following siblings, Myrtle Sams, Ruby Prunty, Ray Bibbee, Ernest Bibbee, Stella Smith, Tom Bibbee, Letha Bibbee and Arthur Bibbee. He is survived by 11 grandchildren, Cheryl Hendershot (Doug) , Eric Bibbee (Beth), Denine Mullins, Jason Mullins (Bobbie), Kristi Payton (Tim), Brandy Crellin (Steve), Terah Miller (Jeff), John Bibbee, Ryan Bibbee, Chad Lemaster (Jessica) and Jason Lemaster (Laura). He is also survived by 36 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by his partner, companion and friend for the last 18 years, Wanda Modesitt of Davisville. He was a hard working, kind and loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather who will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and he will be buried at Sunset Memory Gardens beside his late wife Martha. Funeral services will be at 2 PM Friday March 14, 2025 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M.
