Wilbert C. Angus, 87, of Parkersburg, passed away Aug. 11, 2011 at the West Virginia Veterans Nursing Facility in Clarksburg, WV.
Mr. Angus was born Dec. 10, 1923, in Jackson County, the son of the late Ambrose B. and Ressie Ellen Holliday Angus. He retired in 1982 after 29 years of service with Cook Motor Lines. He was a veteran of WWII having served as a corporal with the Combat Engineers in several European countries from 1942 to 1946.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Cathy Angus of Vienna; four grandsons, Michael and his wife, Cheryl of Parkersburg, and Steven and his wife Tricia of Phoenix, AZ; two great-grandsons, Dylan and Dominic of Phoenix; two great-granddaughters, Logan and Michala of Parkersburg; and grandchildren Chris and Davian Kerley of Bradenton, FL.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Esther Lemley Angus; his only son, Roger Angus; and three sisters, Ethel Boggess, Opal Carson, and Virginia Thompson.
Services will be held 3 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg with J. Coleman Waybright officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
