Amar Kaur Dhamia 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Amar Kaur Dhamia on January 19, 2021 at home in Nanaimo B.C. Amar passed peacefully with her son Nindar by her side after she had a long battle with dementia. She is survived by her 3 sons, Gurdev, Ninder, and Manjit, her 6 grandkids, her great grandchild, and her nephew Terry. Amar is predeceased by her parents Rahan and Arjan, and her siblings, Bhan Kaur, and Pritam Singh Kahalma. Amar came to Canada in her 30s, with her husband and first born son, she went to have 2 more boys then she tragically lost her husband, Sarwan Singh Dhamia, in 1979.  She built a life for her family and it all started with the house on Nova. 

Amar was the most selfless person anyone had encountered, she was a giver, in times of need, in times of celebration and in times of company she was always thinking of others and was the first lending hand. Her warm smile and home cooked food could fill any soul with happiness. For her love to fill her house with people, feed bellies of all kinds, and just because she loved a good party so she could dance the night away. She will be missed by not only her family but her community. May she rest in peace, never forgotten but always missed, she leaves a place in our hearts.
