We, the Loudon family, are sad to announce the passing of our beloved brother, uncle, great uncle and brother-in-law, Brian on August 13, 2022 at the West Coast General Hospital due to his lengthy chronic lung condition.
Brian is survived by brothers, Alan (Gale) and family, Gerald (Karen) and family, Scot (Teresa) and family. He was predeceased by his parents, Bob and Olga Loudon.
Brian was born and raised in Port Alberni, with most of his earlier years were spent living out Beaver Creek.
This is where he began his love of fishing and leathercraft. He also spent time hanging out with friends and family, swimming at Paper Mill Dam, fishing at the river, scouts, curling, along with fixing and repairing cars. Brian graduated from Alberni District Secondary School and went on to have several jobs within the Valley. Working at the Pulp and Paper Mill is where he became a millwright. Later on he used his mechanical skills to repair cars, motorcycles, lawnmowers, and pretty much anything that had a motor attached to it.
Brian was always ready to help when called upon. Brian’s pride and joy was his motorcycles and being able to go on rides with his friends. He was one of the founding members of the Port Alberni Toy Run 38 years ago. He was extremely proud of this accomplishment and especially how this organization grew, helping so many children. We would like to express our gratitude and sincere thank you to the ambulance attendants, nurses, and doctors who cared for Brian during his very brief stay at the West Coast General Hospital.
Brian will be fondly remembered through the stories he told and oh my, those jokes.
Anyone wishing to honor Brian’s memory is asked to donate to the Port Alberni Toy Run. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Rest in Peace
