David Kwok Keung LEUNG

September 17, 1952 - November 16, 2016 (Age 64)

On November 16, 2016, David Kwok Keung Leung of Edmonton, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Royal Alexandra Hospital with wife and son by his side.

Born in Hong Kong on September 17, 1952, David was one of seven children born into a large family to Bun Loong and Shiu King. He came to Canada in 1976, lived briefly in Port Alberni, studied at Malaspina College (now VIU), Nanaimo and Lakehead University, Thunder Bay. He received his degree in Economics from the University of Saskatchewan in 1980.

After graduation, David met and married his wife Mary Elizabeth. He settled in Edmonton where he joined the Canadian Army Reserve and spent numerous hours in training and services. He was commissioned to officer status while serving on the 41 Service Battalion. Upon completed a long service with outstanding works, David was awarded with the Canadian Forces' Decoration medal. He retired with honors in 2010.

David is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth; son, Steven; parents: Bun Loong and Shiu King (post-deceased); brothers: Raymond (Lili), Andy (Esther), Joe (Sophie), and Michael (Margaret); sisters: Mabel (Kwok Keung, post-deceased), Susanna (Joe Eng); and many nieces and nephews.

Interment will take place at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Alberni Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Port Alberni, BC.
