Doreen passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, April 4th at the age of 82. Up until that evening when she went to bed, she was a happy, energetic, active woman, full of life who enjoyed hiking, dancing, gardening, and volunteering at the Parksville Legion as Service Officer.
Born in Toronto, she grew up in Lloydtown, Ottawa, and Lakeview, Ontario, and later moved from her home in Haliburton, Ontario to Parksville with her husband, Rex (predeceased) for their retirement. Doreen loved BC and enjoyed a happy, healthy retirement. She was very active in the community and will be missed by many.
Doreen is survived by her children, Kirk Potter of Silver City, New Mexico, Dean Potter of Peterborough, Ontario and Lee Reynolds of Trent Lakes, Ontario.
A Memorial Tea held in Doreen’s honour at 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 12th, 2016 at the Parksville Legion, Branch #49. In lieu of flowers, please consider honouring her memory by making a donation in her name to Branch #49 Royal Canadian Legion, Parksville, BC – Building Fund.
