Francis BALDWIN

Loving husband to his late wife G. Mildred; caring father to predeceased daughter, Pauline Ann; sons Derek (Margaret), Lindsay, and Griffith (Theresa);  proud grandpa to Sarah (Jeff Baitis), Victoria Baldwin (Brad Macaulay), Anne Baldwin, and Jillian Baldwin; great-grandpa to Luke;  also left to mourn his passing is his furry companion, Pipper.

Francis was born in Hereford, England on January 14, 1920.  After finishing school,  his first job was working in his father’s paint shop.  Francis worked in the fire services during WWII and, after the war ended, spent the next 10 years in the forestry industry until moving to Devon, where he started farming. In 1966, the Baldwin family moved to Canada and continued farming. Upon retirement in 1985, Francis moved to Vancouver Island where he spent the remainder of his days happily puttering in his garden. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, September 29th at the Best Western Cowichan Valley Inn, 6474 Trans Canada Highway, Duncan BC.   Those wishing to honour Francis’ memory may consider a donation in his name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Donations Department, 1212 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC  V6H 3V2.
