Frank Josef Penzel born January 1, 1933 passed away peacefully on March 20, 2018. Survived by his loving wife Carol Penzel and children; Heidi Davidson, Yvette Myers, Andrew Penzel, Ken Myers, and 4 grandchildren...not to mention his beloved dog Bandy.
Although immigrating to Canada from the old country, Port Alberni was home for most of his life. Frank had a passion for the game of golf, so one could argue that the Cherry Creek golf course was his second home as he was an active member of the club for nearly 50 years. Not sure if it was the game or his 4-some buddies that kept him coming back to lose yet another loonie?
Upon retirement from the pulp mill as a millwright, Frank also enjoyed 27 years of exploring the wonders of Canada, US, and Mexico in his RV with Carol. He never complained about the 'Nagigator' as long as she kept him with a steady supply of chocolate peanut butter cups and marzipan...and perhaps a few donuts too.
Frank's sense of humour, kindness, and generous supportive spirit will always be remembered and cherished in our hearts. Rest in Peace papa.
There will be a celebration of life scheduled for sometime later in the summer. Any donations may be made to Ty Watson House hospice where they will be gratefully appreciated.
