He was predeceased by his parents, George and Jane Linton and his sister, Mary Doucette.
He will be deeply missed by his sister, Jean Cook and his many nieces and nephews in Ontario and around the globe.
He also leaves an empty space in the hearts of his foster son, Judd Jensen as well as his many friends in Vancouver, Grand Forks, and Qualicum Beach.
George was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, but migrated to Canada with his family as a young child. They settled in Marathon, Ontario where George spent his childhood, and where he returned many times through the years. His career in the hospitality industry led him to several places in British Columbia and Alberta, but Grand Forks was home for him for nearly twenty years. He eventually hung up his skillet and retired to Marathon where he cared for his sister, Mary for several years before moving to Qualicum Beach in 2015.
George enjoyed his retirement years, and travelled back and forth to Vancouver, to Gabriola Island and up and down Vancouver Island house sitting and visiting his West Coast friends. George spent the last two years in Arrowsmith Lodge. He is fondly remembered for his sense of humour, the twinkle in those blue eyes and his deep kindness.
Rest peacefully now George.
The family and friends of George would like to extend their gratitude for the compassionate care he received during his time at Arrowsmith.
