Born in 1937, in Hamburg, Germany, Gisela’s artistic talents blossomed early and continued to flourish throughout her life. She was a true artist and creative soul who could put her hand to almost anything and make it beautiful.
As a young woman, Gisela studied hat-making, and learned how to sew and design her own fashions. As a devoted wife and mother, Gisela lovingly nurtured her husband and children, and made their home a peaceful sanctuary. In her early 40’s, Gisela enrolled in college, and became an accomplished interior designer who specialized in creating highly attractive and functional kitchen and bathroom spaces.
Throughout her life, Gisela felt a deep connection with nature. She loved going on hikes and exploring the magnificence of Canada’s wilderness parks. Her appreciation for the natural world was reflected in her exquisite watercolor and acrylic paintings, and in her home where she surrounded herself with lovely flowers and plants.
Gisela had a passion for travelling to tropical climates, and enjoyed many wonderful trips to southern locations including: Cuba, Hawaii, Jamaica, Mexico and Costa Rica. She especially adored Latin music, and loved dancing to any tune with a happy and upbeat rhythm.
Most of all, Gisela was a warm-hearted, generous, and loving person who gave freely of her time and energy to enrich the lives of her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
