January 16, 1927 – May 22, 2013
After a courageous fight with Cancer, Helen passed at the West Coast General Hospital. She wa predeceased by her husband Hank (1984) and is survived by her sisters Lena Blackstock, Barbara Ryder and Mary Ruckel, many nieces and nephews.
Helen was raised within a large family during the depression; throughout her life she demonstrated lessons learned during those years.
Helen led a very busy life – golf, curling, and the annual duck hunting in Saskatchewan. She knew how to have a “Good Time”, attested by her many friends and family.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 – 1:00 PM – Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church – 4731 Burke Road, Port Alberni. A luncheon will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s name may be made to the Cancer Society.
