July 15, 1945 – November 14, 2012
Grams passed away peacefully, with her family by her side and in her heart, at West Coast General Hospital following a brief illness.
She is survived by Paul, her husband of 48 years; son Grant (Ann) Hudson; daughters Melody (Jeff) Ablitt, Paula (Dale) Mercer and Lolly (Duane) Barr; grandsons Scott, Collin, Cole, Braden, Kade, Brett and Jordan, grand daughters Cori and Caitlin, two sisters and two brothers.
Grams spent many years working at Port Alberni City Hall and after retirement she enjoyed being a “Snowbird” – travelling down south in the motorhome to spend the winters with Gramps and their wonderful group of friends. Many trips to the casinos were made and many a good time enjoyed. Grams was a wonderful cook, most especially her homemade soups and macaroni spaghetti.
A huge thank you for the kind, caring and professional support from the staff at VGH, WCGH, Dr. DeWitt and Dr. Wijay, and BC Ambulance. Many thanks to our friends and family for the support and kind words during this time.
Cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the ALS Society of BC would be appreciated. Donations may be made online at http://alsbc.ca/donate or may be mailed to ALS Society of BC. 1233 – 13351 Commerce Parkway, Richmond, BC V6V 2X7
