

After a lengthy and courageous battle with lung disease, Joe passed away peacefully at Nanaimo General Hospital surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his son Jason in 1998; mother, Angelina and father, Adam; sisters, Dorothy and Anne; and brother, Tony. Joe is survived by his best friend and loving wife Darlene; daughter, Jacqueline (Denny); son, Kelly (Anna) and daughter-in-law, Sandy. He will be forever missed by granddaughter, Renee and grandsons, Steven, Dylan, and Travis. Joe also leaves to mourn one brother and eight sisters.
Born and raised on a farm in Kendal, Saskatchewan, Joe resided in Regina until relocating to Vancouver, British Columbia in 1989. He was in the floor covering business most of his life and made many friends along the way in both Regina and BC. He was recognized over and over again for his excellent workmanship and was constantly requested by customers to do their installations. After 36 years of working, Joe hung up his tool belt in 2000. In 2004, Joe and Darlene retired to Qualicum Beach on beautiful Vancouver Island.
He was known as a kind and gentle man, always there for his children, and ready to give a helping hand. Joe will truly be missed by all.
A Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 27th 2013, at 2:00 pm at Valley View Memorial Gardens, 14514 - 72nd Avenue, Surrey, BC. A second Celebraton of Life will take place in Regina, Saskatchewan on Friday, August 30th at 1:00 pm at the Regina Apostolic Church, 808 Assiniboine Avenue East.
