

He immigrated to Canada in the 1960’s to commence a new adventure and spent the next 30+ years working for the Government of Canada, retiring in 2002 in B.C. as an Executive. He eventually settled in his favorite place - Nanaimo, BC.
Family was important to him, after his father passed away he brought his mother and three siblings to live with him in Canada.
He is survived by his wife Kavita, and his loving daughters Neera (Ryan) granddaughter Avani, Mona (Chris), brother Dalip(Ashok), sisters Sushma (Malcolm), Reena (Ajay) and many nieces and nephews.
Kumar had a strong passion for politics, history, cars, travel, writing, and especially music including playing the harmonica, listening to ghazals (hindi poems), and proudly showing off his funny dance moves. He was also considered a mentor to many family members, friends, and colleagues.
He loved to live every moment of his life, at times pushing it to the edge, one of his favorite sayings was “I may not be a millionaire, yet I have lived my life as if I was one"
