With courage and humour Kate gave up her battle on November 15, 2012. Beloved daughter of Claire (deceased) and Sid Downing; stepmother Milly; cherished sister to Valerie, Sherri, Chico, and Monica; predeceased by brother David; wonderful Aunt to Aaron, Bob, and Kaitlyn; great Aunt to Lucas; loving Godmother to Sally; forever friend to Elizabeth Ruby; exceptional Momma to her faithful companion "Benny".
Kate adored her friends and members from Coastal Community Credit Union. The love and support from her co-workers was valued always.
In lieu of flowers and in keeping with Kate’s wishes, donations may be made in her name to the B.C. S.P.C.A. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 24th at 1463 Pilot Way, Nanoose Bay from 2-4pm.
