1937 – 2017
It with sadness that the family announce the passing of Skip (Ken) on April 7, 2017 at WCGH with his family by his side.
Ken was predeceased by Simone Gallant, his daughters Christine and Denise, and is survived by his loving companion Sweet Pea, daughter Mona (Larry), sons Clint (Eva), Ken, Brian (Rhonda),his step-daughter Shannon (Ken) and his other son Ron and his grandchildren Nicole (Colyn) Celene (Tyler), Michelle, James, Catrina (Mike), Cathy, Ken, Kirsten, Travis, Ryan, Kyle, Cole, Carson, and his great grandchildren Danika, Cadence, Jaiden, Quinton, Mason, Isla, Lily, Kaye-Lynn, his brother Bill Hallgarth and his many nieces and nephews.
Ken was born April 14, 1937. He came to Port Alberni with his parents Rupert and Mabel, he attended school and went to work in the bush as a logger. His passion was building and racing stock cars – this hobby started in 1968 and continued until the present time when he sold his last stock car. He enjoyed playing crib at the Alano Club; he also liked to play practical jokes on whomever he could. His music was also a big part of his life.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Yates Memorial Services Reception Room – 1:00 PM - 4470 Gertrude Street, Port Alberni, BC. Please bring your STORIES to share with his family and friends.
